Apple’s online store temporarily unavailable [Update: Back Up]

Apple’s online Apple Store is currently down and attempting to access it to make a purchase results in the standard “Be Right Back” message.

Considering it’s a Tuesday evening / afternoon in the US and we don’t expect any new products this week, it’s likely this is a temporary maintenance outage that isn’t linked to a new product version. The Apple Store app is also down at the moment.

We’ll update this article when the Apple Online Store returns and is up and running, and we’ll leave MacRumors readers know if there are any noticeable changes.

Update: The Apple Online Store is back. Apple added a “Store” tab back to its main site, but that appears to be the only change, suggesting the outage was primarily a behind-the-scenes maintenance update.
