Last October, Ghost of Tsushima received a surprise multiplayer expansion called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, which pits teams of players against waves of enemies in a variety of cooperative scenarios. Almost a year later, Captions is about to undergo some big changes, including a new competitive mode and a standalone version, Sucker Punch announced in a blog post today.

September 3, Captions will receive a competitive mode called “Rivals”. Rather than a traditional battle – in which you would fight your human opponents directly – Rivals sees two teams of two clash by indirect means, much like Russia and the United States have done for decades in the last century. . By defeating waves of enemies, you will earn an in-game currency called Magatama. You can then burn it to afflict the opposing team with various debuffs. Spending enough Magatama triggers a final wave of enemies. Whichever team beats their last wave, the first wins. Here’s a trailer:

Along with the release of Rivals, Sucker Punch will roll out an update that will allow players to upgrade some of their most powerful gear to Ki levels of 120, unlocking a second perk. And the duration of sessions in Survival mode will apparently be shortened somewhat, although Sucker Punch did not specify by how much. (Hope this means the Gold races won’t last an hour longer!)

What else, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends will be available as a standalone version for $ 20. The way today’s blog post is worded, a specific release date remains unclear. Sony, Ghost of Tsushimathe editor of, did not immediately respond to a note from Kotaku search for clarity.

Later this month, Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is coming out on PS4 and PS5, offering PS5-specific improvements and a new expansion, as well as a confusing pricing system from PS4 to PS5. Until the beginning of October, Captions will receive new content based on Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, including survival maps based on the future region of Iki Island for the expansion. You don’t need to own the Director’s Cup to access news Captions.

When Captions fell out of nowhere last year i played … well let’s just say my title didn’t lie. Corn Captions is not designed to be infinite time, as there is a cap on how much gear you can earn and level up. New additions should be as good a reason as any to come back. Damn yeah.
