Raiders sign six-time Pro Bowler DT Gerald McCoy

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders signed a free agent contract DT Gerald McCoy, the club announced on Wednesday.

McCoy was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round (third overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive tackle made saves with the Dallas Cowboys ( 2020) and the Carolina Panthers (2019), having spent the first nine years of his career in Tampa Bay (2010-18).

Six-time first-team selection by Pro Bowler and Associated Press in 2013, McCoy started all 139 games played in his career, recording 352 tackles (252 solo), 59.5 sacks, 79 tackles for a loss, 24 assists defended , six forced fumbles and four recovered fumbles.

A native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, McCoy played three years in Oklahoma, appearing in 40 games. He finished his college career with 83 tackles, 14.5 sacks, four defended, one interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
