Rumors for Zombies Chronicles 2 have been rampant since the release of Zombies Chronicles for Black Operation 3 in 2017. However, since this release, there has been no official mention or hint that Zombies Chronicles 2 is in development.
Zombies Chronicles contained eight remastered zombie maps, including Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, Kino der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-La, Moon, and Origins.
At the time of its release, maps such as Buried, Call of The Dead, and Farm were overlooked, leading to a community frenzy with speculation and rumors that a Zombies Chronicles 2 is in development.
Year after year, the rumors and hype continued to grow, but ultimately Zombies Chronicles 2 never came.
Where is Zombies Chronicles 2?
According to sources, Zombies Chronicles 2 has been in development for several years and the majority of maps are complete. This information was presented a few months ago when a rumor circulated on the internet that the Berlin Zombie Map, which we now know is called Mauer Det Toten, was going to be the latest zombie map for Black Ops Cold War. I have publicly dismissed these rumors and stated that another map is coming and Zombies Chronicles 2 maps are ready to go, whenever needed.
This information is still valid today, with Treyarch and Activision not pulling the trigger of Zombies Chronicles 2 until it is needed. Although the community believes that Black Ops Cold War didn’t work well for Activision, it doesn’t.
Unfortunately, that means zombie fans may have to wait a bit longer for remasters.
Vanguard could release Zombies Chronicles 2
This year’s annual Call of Duty title, dubbed The vanguard of the call of duty is to bring players back to a “setting that our fans know and love,” Activision says, that setting being World War II.
It seems that for the first time in a long time, the Call of Duty The hype train slowed down, with fans looking for something a little more exciting than a WWII title. The concerns aren’t just being felt by the community either, with several analysts on Activision’s second quarter earnings call questioning the future of Call of Duty and how confident they are in this year’s annual release.
Although Activision has been positive about The vanguard of the call of duty and its Warzone integration, it’s clear that Activision has several cards up its sleeve to increase player numbers and revenue should they ever fall. Zombies Chronicles 2 is a huge asset for the publisher to have for the Call of Duty franchise and unfortunately I think it will take Avant-garde to free it.

Activision and Sledgehammer Games have their work cut out for them this year with Vanguard, with many fans previously unaware that they would not be purchasing this annual release.
Although, despite the whispers, Avant-garde will inevitably sell millions of copies and almost certainly exceed Infinite halo and Battlefield 2042. However, Activision’s goal is not only to sell copies, but also to keep these players engaged and keep spending. That’s why Zombies Chronicles 2 is slated for release in mid-2022.
Zombies Chronicles 2 is also unlikely to be free-to-play as well, as the potential for a big payday would be huge for such a large amount of DLC.
The main reason for my speculation is simple, Avant-garde is not going to be a Call of Duty title people rave about when it was released. Yes, it will sell millions of copies, but I think it will be a game that people buy and not engage with for a long time. Battlefield 2042, Infinite halo, and even Splitgate all of them have the potential to be massive games by 2022, and Activision knows it.
