We’re about to see one of country music’s powerful couples in a whole new light.
In an exciting turn of events, Paramount + announced that Tim mcgraw and Hill of Faith will play James and Margaret Dutton in the Yellowstone prequel series, 1883. The show will give Yellowstone fans get a different take on the Duttons before they had the money, power, and control of America’s largest contingent ranch. According to the show’s official announcement, 1883 is a “blunt account of Western expansion and an intense study of a family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s Promised Land – Montana”.
The couple broke the news on their individual Instagram accounts. Faith shared a boomerang of her holding the script, writing that fans “had never seen anything like it”.
Tim spoke directly to the camera, joking that fans can now ask questions about his beard to rest. “A lot of you have asked about my beard, so now you know why,” he joked.
And while the 1883 The news of the casting may surprise many, it is clear that people are thrilled for them. Thousands of diehard fans commented on their posts to express their excitement, including a few familiar faces from the Yellowstone to throw. “Dutton looks good on you” Kevin costner, who plays John Dutton in the original series, wrote. While the couple have made a lot of music together throughout their 25-year marriage, this is the first time they’ll share the big screen on a TV show. Yet they each have a lot of acting experience: Faith started her career with guest spots on TV shows, eventually returning to the theater world in 2017. Dixieland. Tim, of course, is known for his performances in blockbuster films including The blind side, Tomorrowland and Strong Country.
