Prosecutors have filed one of the cases under review as they implicated a Houston officer accused of lying in an affidavit that led to a deadly raid on drugs.

Court records show drug court case against Courtney Jacobs was filed on Wednesday, the same day the Harris County Attorney's Office announced it would review more than 1,400 cases related to Constable Gerald Goines .

The cases are under review following the raid last month, which left five injured and two residents dead.

The prosecutor's office said that Jacobs' case had been shelved because she had been in prison for four months and that prosecutors were not ready to go to court. A lawyer for Jacobs said that prosecutors had informed him that the case would be closed and that he felt that Goines' involvement was "a factor".

The district attorney's office stated that none of these cases had been filed solely on the grounds of Goines' involvement.

A Houston officer who, according to the police chief, allegedly lied in an affidavit that led to a deadly raid on the drug was fired from the hospital.

Officer Gerald Goines' lawyer, Nicole DeBorde, said Goines had been released Thursday from Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Police chief Art Acevedo said that Goines had lied in the affidavit that justified the January 28 raid on a house in which a 59-year-old man and a woman died. Four officers, including Goines, were shot dead as they forced their way into the house.

The Harris County Attorney's Office reviews more than 1,400 cases. Goines has been working for 34 years with the Houston Police Department and the FBI has begun investigating the civil rights violations of the two murdered residents.
