Brewers-Cubs series opening postponed

CHICAGO – The Cubs and Brewers will have to wait another day to renew their rivalry.

On Monday night, bad weather forced the postponement of the opener of a four-game series between National League opponents Central at Wrigley Field. The match will be composed as part of a split doubles schedule on Tuesday.

Lefty Justin Steele will make his first Major League start for the Cubs in Game 1 of Twin Bill at 1:20 p.m. CT. Chicago will then hand the ball over to right-hander Alec Mills for the final drink at 7:05 p.m. CT. Both games will be seven rounds.

Tickets for the postponed match from Monday will be valid for the first match of the double schedule on Tuesday. Mobile tickets through MLB Ballpark app will update automatically with makeup game information. No ticket exchange will be necessary.

The Cubs will need separate tickets for each game, meaning fans will be asked to leave Wrigley Field after the 1:20 p.m. CT makeup contest ends. The gates will then reopen for the second game approximately 90 minutes after the last pitch of the first game.
