There is a mistaken belief that animation means a kid-friendly end product, but like many recent animated series such as Singular point of Godzilla, The murderous joke and others have shown it, sometimes things can get very dark very quickly. It looks like Marvel’s What if…? the series almost risked breaking Disney’s beloved PG-13 boundaries with one goal Spider Man idea of an episode that had to be abandoned. The episode brought the comedic arc to life that actually saw Peter Parker become a spider in something reminiscent of Fly.
“There were a few episodes that were just a little too dark”, What if…? writer AC Bradley said The post-credit podcast. “There was an original What if …? [comic] run where i think Spider Man turns into a real spider, and it was just too dark and too horrible for their PG-13. “
Despite the relatively small limitation, Bradley went on to point out that creating the show was almost like being a child given “the keys to the toy store.” There was nothing other than things that had already been done in other projects and those that were currently in production making the upcoming roster of Marvel shows and movies.
“But it was great! You said it yourself, we were basically given the keys to the toy store,” the writer added. “’Go have fun and make sure everything was different. Don’t give us ten of the same, give us ten of the most different stories you can imagine. “I hope Bryan and I got there.”
Earlier speaking to IGN, Bradley revealed that one of the What if…? ideas that needed to be left out was one featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, which could not be done as it turned out to be almost exactly the same as the plot of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
“I walked [executive producer] Brad Winderbaum through all my hard work, only to find out that I accidentally threw the back half of [Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3]Bradley revealed. ‘Well this is going to be an amazing movie, but now I have to go back to the drawing board,’ “
There are only two days until the first episode of What if…? hits Disney + and from what we know, there are plenty of crazy stories to be told through the first animated addition to the MCU. With stories starring Captain Carter, Zombie Hunter Spider-Man, Party Thor, and the last time the late Chadwick Boseman will play T’Challa, there is plenty to do for the new series and as with all Marvel series there is plenty to do with it. there is so much more to reveal. Let the public accept it as easily as people like WandaVision and Loki is something we’ll have to wait a bit to find out once the ratings for the series are known. This news comes from ComicBook.com.
