Apple Support App for iOS Adds Paired AirPods to Your Device List

The Apple Support app just got a new update with version 4.3, adding paired AirPods to your device list.

Previously, if you needed assistance for your AirPods with “Audio and sound”, “Lost or missing AirPods”, “Battery and charging”, “Pairing and connectivity”, “Physical or liquid damage”, or more , you had to click a generic AirPods icon on the Apple Support app.

Now, when you search for specific AirPods on the Apple Support app, you will find all the AirPods you own. By clicking on “Device Details”, you get information about its model, serial number and coverage.

With this update, you can easily see whether your AirPods are still under warranty or not, even if you haven’t connected them to your phone.

On top of that, if you want to check their warranty, you need to connect your AirPods, go to “Settings”, “Bluetooth”, “i” dot on your AirPods, then check the warranty. Although some Apple products appear under your iCloud account in settings, AirPods are not supported.

The Apple Support app also made performance improvements and bug fixes. Four months ago the app also received a major update with:

  • The updated coverage details now show more information about your benefit and service options;
  • Receive reminders on your upcoming reservations by text or phone.

Recently, Apple has also started offering developers beta firmware for AirPods Pro. The latest version brought Conversation Boost functionality. It amplifies the voice of a person speaking in front of you using beamforming microphones.

Apple says the feature is primarily designed for people who have mild hearing problems, which makes it difficult to hear others without using dedicated devices.

The prerequisites for running the AirPods Pro beta include a Mac running the Xcode 13 beta, an iPhone running the iOS 15 beta, and a set of fully loaded AirPods Pro. These features are not available for normal AirPods or AirPods Max.
