The last Animal Crossing: New Horizons the patch is there and that corrects *checks notes * clouds?
Apparently clouds did not appear in summer, which obviously needed to be rectified immediately. The latest patch 1.11.1 of August 10 details: “Fixed a bug where clouds did not appear during certain seasons”, as roughly translated from Japanese via Google.
The hotfix fixes bugs in one of the Animal Crossing larger seasonal updates, which came out in late July. This added the usual summer events and added seasonal elements to the game, such as, uh, cucumbers and eggplants. More free content is also planned for Later this year.
As usual, you will need to update your game before playing online with others. But why wouldn’t you want to correct this serious cloud error immediately? It is definitely a top priority for all new Horizons players, is not it?
Or maybe you haven’t even realized the lack of clouds since the update and assumed that Animal crossing the gods have blessed you with clear, sunny weather. Well, they are not.

The update also fixes other relatively minor issues, including a color variation bug that you would only encounter if you tried to take photos in the Harvey’s Island studio and order DIY recipes.
The full patch notes, translated from Japanese, are as follows:
- Fixed a bug where the order was not correct when reorganizing in “Order obtained” in the “DIY Recipe” app.
- Fixed a bug where the color variations of certain objects were not displayed in the catalog of the “Panny Island” filming studio. (Note: This probably refers to Harvey’s studio on Photopia.)
- Fixed a bug that prevented the “Tanuki Shoten” fence BGM from sinking.
- Fixed a bug where clouds would not appear during certain seasons.
- Local communication is not compatible with Ver. 1.11.0 or earlier. Make sure you have the same version of the update data with the people you are playing with.
