Batman’s main comic character appears to be bisexual

A major character in the Batman comic book series and the larger DC franchise apparently turned bisexual in a recently released issue of Batman: Urban Legends.

The Batman: Urban Legends series originally came out in March of this year and encompasses a wide range of supporting Batman characters. Tim Drake, the third character to take on Batman’s sidekick Boy Wonder, has been a prominent feature of the series. Drake’s Robin presents in the story “Sum of Our Parts” a three part tale written by Meghan Fitzmartin and illustrated by Belen Ortega. The third chapter of the story ended today with the revelation that Tim Drake is ready to explore his apparent bisexuality.

Speculation surrounding the character’s sexuality had been discussed by fans since Batman: Urban Legends Issue # 4, where Drake was feeling nervous about going to see an old friend. The character is like, “Why am I so nervous? It’s okay, you haven’t seen him in a while but he’s still the same guy.” After that, Bernard Dowd arrives and fans get another glimpse of Drake’s thoughts. He thinks “Looks like it’s been years, but he still looks… looks…” the thought fades as the two kiss. continue with the recent release of number 6.

In the final issue, fans learn more about Drake’s sexuality in the final scene of “Sum of Our Parts” where he can be seen standing in a doorway next to Bernard. Barnard finally asks him: “Tim Drake … do you want to go out with me?”. Drake replies, “Yeah … Yeah, I think I want that.” before the end of the comic. While it’s unclear where this relationship will lead, it’s exciting for fans to see the character go LGBTQ + as a result of the series of speculation. With Part 3 of “Sum of Our Parts” coming to an end, fans will have to wait until December to pick up Drake’s storyline in Batman: Urban Legends # 10.

In addition to starring in Batman: Urban Legends, Tim Drake will also take on the role of Robin in the upcoming open-world action RPG Gotham Knights which is being developed by Warner Bros Games Montreal. Dick Grayson, DC Comics’ first Robin, will take on the role of Nightwing in the game.
