AUBURN, Alabama – Fifth-year defensive tackle Tyrone Truesdell is no longer part of Auburn’s football program, Bryan Harsin told reporters on Tuesday afternoon after the team’s fourth pre-season training session.

“He’s not on our team,” Harsin said, clarifying a previous response in which he said Truesdell is not on the team “at the moment.”

A member of Auburn’s recruiting class of 2017, Truesdell made 14 tackles in his first two seasons before securing a top spot in defensive tackles in 2019. He had nine tackles for a loss and three bags over the past two seasons.

In February, Truesdell decided to exercise his NCAA “COVID year” of eligibility and return in 2021. He was a nose tackle newbie in Derek masondefending during spring training a few months ago.

Auburn has another nose tackle veteran who could take Truesdell’s place in UAB transfer Tony fair, who has already received a lot of praise from his teammates and coaches this preseason. Marquis Burks, who started on the inside D-line in the spring, Lee hunter and JJ Pegues could all see increased use now.
