As the 2021 football season approaches, the state of Ohio announced some changes to the game day experience on Tuesday afternoon, including new mask guidelines.
In accordance with the latest Ohio State regulations that require masks to be worn indoors regardless of vaccination status, the Ohio State will also require masks in covered or covered areas on game days.
Masks will be required in all indoor public spaces, including the Huntington Club, elevators, first aid rooms, washrooms and press box as well as the pre-game Skull session. However, masks will not be required for outdoor public spaces, including the bowl of seats, doors, halls or concession stands.
The state of Ohio also announced that it will go cashless this season for all purchases, including program sales, concessions, ticketing transactions and merchandise. Payments can be made by credit or debit card, as well as Apple Pay / Google Pay, but cash will not be accepted.
Additionally, all ticketing and parking cards will be digital, with tickets on guest smartphones allowing contactless entry. Options for fans without smartphones will come in the future.
Ohio State will play its first home game of the season on September 11 when the Buckeyes host Oregon.
