Governor Kate Brown held a press conference on Wednesday to discuss Oregon’s continued response to COVID-19 and to announce new statewide indoor mask requirements. She was accompanied by representatives from the Oregon Health Authority.
Brown announced Tuesday that Oregonians will be required to begin wearing masks in all indoor public spaces regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status – a move as Oregon set a host of disturbing records and new ones projections show COVID-19 hospitalizations could almost double in the coming weeks.
Oregon appears to be the third state in the country to renew a mask mandate, and the move comes six weeks to the day when Brown lifted previous demands.
