Lil Nas X turned down the role to star alongside Zendaya in Euphoria and thinks her boyfriend is “the right one”

He is already one of the most talked about names in music.

And Lil Nas X has revealed that he could have starred in one of the most talked about shows on TV.

The 22-year-old rapper has revealed that he turned down the opportunity to have a role alongside Zendaya in Euphoria because he was one of the artists featured on the cover of Variety’s Power Of Young Hollywood issue.

Nas – who was highlighted with Olivia Rodrigo and Thomas Doherty – said he was considering staring in the HBO drama but didn’t feel ready as he was focusing on his music.

The Montero (Call Me By Your Name) hitmaker explained, “I was going to do Euphoria, but I didn’t want to take a long time to finish my album.

“I really want to be an actor, but I feel like I have to give it my all and I want to focus on the music for now. I want my first movie to be amazing.

Euphoria was critically acclaimed as the program won three Primetime Emmy Awards, including a notable lead actress victory for Zendaya.

The rapper – born Montero Lamar Hill – also went personal, saying her current boyfriend could be “the right one.”

Nas said, “I have had good boyfriends and bad ones. Many of them were emotionally unavailable or had a lot of insecurity and so on.

‘[But] I have found someone special now. I think this is the one. I can’t explain it – it’s just a feeling.

The Old Town Road hitmaker has kept his love life private, but was said to be dating dancer Yai Ariza whom he kissed at the end of his BET Awards performance last month.

As a result of this performance, Nas was the center of many homophobic comments, including some of his fellow rappers.

He was asked about comments from other artists and declined to speak directly about it, but said, “The honest truth is, I don’t want to talk about a lot of homophobia in rap because I have it. feels like it’s a very dangerous game, it’s more for my own safety than anything else.

Nas was then asked if he ever felt in danger because he was an openly gay man in a historically homophobic genre.

He said, ‘Yes, a lot of times, absolutely. Especially after [Montero]. There was literally someone chasing my car a few days after this video came out, shouting “F *** you!” or something. And that’s when I started getting security.

He explained that he was not entirely sure what prompted the foreigner to pursue him, but added: “I feel like it can’t be a coincidence.”

Nas also opened up about his fandom of fellow rapper Nicki Minaj and explained why the artist means so much to him.

He explained: “I had the impression [Minaj] was unique to the rap industry – someone who’s super talented but didn’t get all the credit because she’s a woman. She’s very outspoken, she’s a boss and she does what she wants. I love all of these attributes.

Last year, he admitted to managing a fan Twitter account for the 38-year-old Trinidad-born rapper who had a six-figure following and explained that the experience had helped him see the challenges that the artists were crossing.

Nas said: “Being on stan Twitter as a whole I learned a lot about the things artists have to go through and also a lot about the history of the music industry. It helps me a lot.
