The United States has launched an official investigation into Tesla Inc.’s autopilot system, citing collisions with parked emergency vehicles, documents say posted Monday on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
The investigation covers approximately 765,000 Tesla Model Y, X, S and 3 vehicles from model years 2014-2021. The NHTSA said it launched the investigation after 11 crashes that left 17 injured and one dead.
