Kamaru Usman didn’t appreciate Conor McGregor’s recent prediction if a showdown between the two was ever set up.

Late Sunday night until early Monday morning, McGregor did an impromptu question-and-answer session with fans on Twitter and was asked, “How does it feel to wake up unconscious people in three categories of different weights?

McGregor, a former two-division UFC world champion, responded to the question by saying that if he fought for the welterweight title he would ‘trigger it too’, being the current 170-pound champion. Kamaru Usman.

Although Usman’s name was not specifically mentioned in McGregor’s tweet, “The Nigerian Nightmare” caught wind of the comments and had things to say in response.

“Spark who? You have to talk about that pipe you’re smoking, ”Usman replied. “Unlike you, if I’m gonna talk shit I’m gonna [tag] you. Now be easy before I call [Dustin] Pear tree, Khabib [Nurmagomedov] or [Nate] Diaz to finish you off again.

Currently, the plan is for Usman to defend his title against Colby Covington in November at UFC 268 in a rematch of their highly competitive fight at UFC 245.

McGregor suffered back-to-back TKO losses to Dustin Poirier to start his 2021 campaign, the latter taking place in July at UFC 264 where “The Notorious” suffered a broken shinbone. McGregor hopes to return to action in 2022 after recovering from the injury.
