Giants make 3 trades to hit 85-player NFL limit

Morris, a 10-year veteran, signed a new contract Aug. 2 and ran twice for four yards in the Giants’ opener against the Jets on Saturday night. In 2020, he joined the Giants’ practice squad on September 30 and was raised three times to the active roster, most recently on November 13. Morris played nine games and had 55 rushing attempts for 238 yards and one touchdown and caught three. passes for 19 yards, including a score.

Morris has previously played for Washington, Dallas, San Francisco and Arizona and has 5,935 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns.

Milton, who was preparing for his sixth season in the NFL, was signed as a free agent by the Giants on March 31. He didn’t play against the Jets. Milton played the previous two seasons for the Tennessee Titans and spent his first three years with the Indianapolis Colts.

Williams has also not been on the field against the Jets. He spent most of his first 2020 NFL season on the Giants’ practice squad. Williams played two late-season games – against Arizona on December 13 and Cleveland on December 20 – and had 16 special teams snaps and one special teams tackle against the Cardinals.

All NFL teams are required to reduce their roster to a maximum of 80 players by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24.
