Apple has just released the sixth beta of iOS 15 for developers, and while we’re not sure exactly what has changed with this update, the company has confirmed that iOS 15 beta 6 brings a new overhaul to Safari. . This time around, the company appears to have rolled back some of the changes to the iPhone version of Safari.

According to the iOS 15 beta 6 release notes, today’s update offers an option to show the Safari address bar at the top. Previous versions of iOS 15 introduced a new address bar that floats across the bottom of the screen, which made several users unhappy with the new Safari.

The bottom tab bar has been redesigned to appear below the page content. An option to display the address bar at the top is also available. (81118141)

Due to the new Safari layout, several buttons have been hidden in the main interface of the app, such as the refresh page, bookmarks, and share buttons. Following user feedback, Apple has added some of these buttons to the iPhone Safari’s address bar with iOS 15 beta 3.

Now, the company is returning to a more familiar interface for users that resembles Safari in iOS 14 and earlier versions of the operating system. Now when you access Safari preferences in the iOS Settings app, a new menu lets you choose between the unified address bar at the bottom of the screen or the classic Safari design.

Interestingly, even if you go with the new design, Apple has made a few changes to it to bring back some of the classic navigation buttons. Apple had previously added Safari-like options in iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey with previous beta versions.

While the company isn’t completely abandoning Safari’s new design, it’s clear that most users don’t seem to have approved it as the old design is coming back as an option, which is pretty unusual for Apple.
