Now it’s more like that. Less than a day after Harry Kane’s side allegedly ‘threw in the gauntlet’ in a one-sided Jason Burt Telegraph article demanding Tottenham Hotspur sell him to Manchester City, there is now a new report in Miguel’s Independent Delaney indicating that City are preparing a £ 150million offer for Kane in the final two weeks of the transfer window.
Tottenham have reportedly valued Kane at £ 160million and so far Daniel Levy has maintained his valuation. City have repeatedly tried to downsize Tottenham with a series of offers, starting with one earlier in the summer that was £ 80million + £ 20million in add-ons, and more recently a deal similarly structured with a total value of £ 127million.
Delaney’s independent article suggests the £ 150million offer would be fair to bring Daniel Levy to the negotiating table, and that the Spurs president would likely insist on further additions to the deal.
Sources say £ 150million alone would not be enough to secure the deal, but it could at least open negotiations and allow for the inclusion of several add-ons. The most common belief in an increasingly tedious saga is that it will go straight to the point.

Now it’s more like that. We’ve been saying for some time that it’s up to Manchester City to make an acceptable offer, and NOT Daniel Levy to accept a lower offer. £ 150million is actually more than I expected to convey this, and if Levy insists on the additions, the total price could approach what Spurs actually valued Kane at.
To be clear, “preparing an offer” is not the same as “actually submitted an offer”. Delaney is a good journalist, however, and it really feels like the natural progression of this whole saga. £ 150million would, of course, be a record-breaking UK transfer fee and would be transformative money for Spurs even if they lose their local talisman and England’s best striker.
But in short, it looks like Manchester City are finally taking it all seriously. Maybe we’ll finally end this whole saga now.
