The FBI is joining an investigation into how images of sensitive data from voting machines in Mesa County, Colo., Ended up being shared in QAnon videos.
A spokesperson for the office told Insider that its Denver field office was working with Mesa County District Attorney Dan Rubinstein on a criminal investigation into how the data was disclosed.
Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, a Democrat, last week accused Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters, a pro-Trump Republican, of allowing an unauthorized person to attend a meeting on the 25th. May during which Dominion voting machine data was available.

According to CNN, the meeting in which Griswold claims the data was stolen was a “build of administrators,” in which county and state officials met with Dominion employees to update the electoral machine software.
In the fallout from the election leak, Griswold clashed with Mesa County commissioners, who blocked his nomination to replace Peters while the investigation is ongoing, CBS Colorado reported. They named former Colorado Secretary of State Wayne Williams, a Republican, to the role instead.
QAnon followers have played a key role in spreading conspiracy theories that the election was stolen from former President Donald Trump last year by manipulating electoral machinery.
The claims were pushed by lawyers for the Trump campaign, including Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani, who are now being sued by Dominion.
