Dodgers News: Joe Kelly should be activated for a series in San Diego

As of August 10, the Dodgers have been missing Joe Kelly who came out with an undisclosed injury. But now it looks like he should be back with the squad this week. The big question was, when will he return? The LA relieving pen has accomplished a lot over the past week and hopefully Kelly can help the team maintain that momentum.

Dave Roberts spoke to the media and gave a quick rundown of what to expect from the right-handed pitcher after his latest start to rehab.

He was rusty … so we just figured because of that he started the opener, he’s going to pitch today coming out of the box, pitch an inning and expect him be good and activated during this series in San Diego.

While Kelly was a little rusty during his rehab, it should subside quickly, especially with the way he plays well.

All the good news from Doc, and just at the right time. It’s no secret that the Padres have some amazing players in their lineup. With the return of NL home run leader Fernando Tatís Jr., Kelly’s return is a big plus for the back of the bullpen.

Overall, the hope is Kelly can get back to where he left off, so it will be exciting to see if the Dodgers can keep their winning streak alive.
