Final Score: Mets 7, Dodgers 2 – Turnaround at Tinseltown

[ad_1]

The Mets actually won a game against the Dodgers, avoiding the sweep of the season due to strong performances across the board. Marcus Stroman gave them a good outing, pitching six innings with just two runs and six strikeouts and keeping the Mets in with just three runs on the board. The Mets’ box did it all, keeping the Dodgers scoreless in the three innings covered by Jeurys Familia, Trevor May and Edwin Díaz.

The real bright spot today was the Mets’ offense, which scored five points against the Dodgers. In the first inning, the Mets scored three runs thanks to hits, a lead over Nimmo to Javier Báez (in his first comeback), JD Davis and Jonathan Villar all got hits. Then, in the seventh inning, Davis hit a two-run homer to put the final nail in the Dodgers’ odds casket in this game. Then in the ninth, the Mets loaded goals and Davis and Jeff McNeil produced two more runs. Overall, the Mets produced positive momentum in the final game before coming in for a ten-game homestand against the Giants, Nationals and Marlins.
