WWE President and Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan spoke about the sheer number of releases the company has made over the past year.

Over the past few months, WWE has released several talented wrestlers out of the blue. Most of them came in batches every few weeks, with all skill levels affected by these increasingly regular cuts. Braun Strowman, Aleister Black and Bray Wyatt were among them.

Nick Khan has been linked with these decisions, taking the brunt of criticism from WWE fans for these outings. He recently spoke to Ariel Helwani of BT Sport, discussing a multitude of topics. Khan revealed how involved he was in making the releases. Vince McMahon finally has the last word.

“We’re a collective. And keep in mind that in WWE there’s only one boss. That’s Vince, as we all know. So between Bruce Prichard, who’s overseeing the whole process. creative, between Kevin Dunn who oversees all our production, between Stephanie McMahon, [Triple H], everyone is involved in these decisions, with Vince ultimately making the final decision on everything, ”said Nick Khan.

Nick Khan says WWE doesn’t live in the past

Nick Khan said there isn’t necessarily a single explanation why there have been so many WWE outings over the past year. He referred to the company’s recent Las Vegas test, from which more than a dozen new talent were recruited. Khan clarified that it had nothing to do with recent cuts.

“I think at the end of the day what is being looked at is – is this person, for us, going to move the needle, now or in the near future,” Khan said. “We are always looking for the future. We live in the present, we live in the future. We do not live in the past. So when people leave and move on in their lives and careers, it “is good for us. For us, that’s what works for us and our product then, what will work later. And a lot of the existing list is based on that,” he said. he adds.

While several big names have been released recently by WWE, the company remains in a position of strength. Becky Lynch and Brock Lesnar both returned to WWE at SummerSlam, after long absences.
