“The Five” co-host Jesse Watters berated the White House on Monday for confused messages surrounding President Biden’s troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, as US citizens and their allies remain trapped in troubled Asian country central.
Watters’ comments came after White House press secretary Jen Psaki insisted during a press briefing that Americans “are not” stranded in Kabul and that the White House is “committed to bringing home Americans who want to return home”.
“Stranded means if you want to go somewhere and you can’t,” Watters retorted. “Do you think the Americans can just go to Kabul airport and take the next flight? They can’t, they’re stranded and I don’t know why she’s arguing over that word.”

Watters said the White House’s attempt to control the messages despite a spiraling situation in Afghanistan is a reminder of their reluctance to label the influx of migrants to the southern US border as a “crisis.”
“They are worried about the messages,” he said. “At first it was’ things are going well ‘, and now it’s’ it was always going to be a mess. Or, ‘We planned this,’ then, ‘Oh, no one could have planned this.’ Or, ‘People are hanging onto the wings of planes – oh, that was four days ago …’ now , it’s ‘Oh, my heart is breaking for these people.’ “Go to the airport and get out as soon as you can… Actually, no, don’t go to the airport now, high terrorist threats,” Watters continued.
The White House is now engaged in a “pool game” with the Taliban, he said, warning: “We don’t know what they are capable of.”
“We saw the reports from the airport: 20 victims, bullets fired in a crowd, women having their teeth cut, US passports torn, Americans beaten,” Watters said.
“It’s like that. You can’t have a plan like this where you’re at the mercy of a terrorist organization, Biden has stranded Americans in a war zone and then tried to go back on vacation…” , he told viewers, before adding, “Can you imagine another president trying to achieve this? Create a humanitarian crisis, arm the enemy and try to go back on vacation?”

Co-host Jessica Tarlov agreed that the White House’s misleading messages have become “serious for the administration.”
“They obviously know this is incredibly serious,” she said, noting that the number of public briefings has “increased tenfold from what we were last week”.
“The dichotomy between what you hear [from the White House] and images [from the ground in Afghanistan] is something that is really hard to take, especially when you see a 2 year old being stepped on, “Tarlov said.” These are things that you cannot ignore in your life. “
