Fans think they’re seeing Matt Murdock return

  • Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” at CinemaCon.
  • Along with several villains, fans believe they may have spotted the return of Matt Murdock.
  • Some fans are convinced that a pair of arms in one fell swoop belongs to Charlie Cox.

The first trailer for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” teases the return of many of Spidey’s iconic villains, but some fans believe they may have spotted a clue about another hero in the upcoming sequel: Matt Murdock aka Daredevil.

Eagle-eyed fans inspect arm and hand footage from the “No Way Home” trailer because they are convinced they belong to Charlie Cox.

Cox played in three seasons of

Netflix
and Marvel’s “Daredevil” as New York attorney Matt Murdock by day and vigilante by night.

Do you think the man above is Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock?

If so, that would mean his Marvel character, Matt Murdock, could appear in the “Spider-Man” sequel.

Additionally, fans also believe it may be a photo of Murdock. This one seems less convincing to us.

Do you think the man on the left is Matt Murdock? We don’t feel convinced.

Why would Murdock even be in ‘No Way Home?’

In the trailer, Peter (Tom Holland) is seen handcuffed and, presumably, in custody. He is charged with the murder of Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) at the end of “Spider-Man: Far From Home” in 2019.

Peter certainly looks like he needs a lawyer in the “No Way Home” trailer.

Fans believe it’s possible Murdock could be Peter Parker (Tom Holland) ‘s attorney in the new movie.

Peter is from Queens after all, and Murdock is president of Hell’s Kitchen. It’s a few quick subway stops (or spidey swings) for Peter.

If a Marvel superhero needs a lawyer, and you’ve had the chance to use Murdock, this seems like the perfect opportunity for a fun cameo.

Could we witness the return of Matt Murdock? It is certainly possible.

Charlie Cox as Daredevil.

In February, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige hinted that we could “maybe someday” see characters like Jessica Jones and others from the Netflix shows someday enter the MCU.

Mashable reported that in November 2020, the rights to Netflix Daredevil reverted to Marvel. Theoretically, Charlie Cox’s version of the character could play in the MCU sandbox.

Of all the Netflix Marvel series, “Daredevil” was among the most popular.

When Insider attended a Marvel’s Stan Lee tribute event in October 2019, Cox was in attendance and mentioned the “Save Daredevil” campaign on stage much to our surprise.

For now, we’ll have to wait and see if the masked vigilante can appear in the next film.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” hits theaters on December 17th.
