The Los Angeles Rams didn’t have a chance to return this summer. With Cam Akers already out for the year and Raymond Calais on the verge of missing 4-6 months due to a broken foot, Darrell Henderson Jr. is now under attack.
Sean McVay told reporters after practice Monday that Henderson injured his thumb and was unable to return. McVay didn’t immediately know the severity, but Ian Rapoport got an update later.
RB Darrell Henderson Jr. injured his thumb in practice today, according to Sean McVay. Henderson did not return. McVay had no further information beyond that.

According to Rapoport, Henderson sprained his thumb and avoided a serious injury.

Henderson is in line for a greater workload this season as a starter, but injuries limited him in his first two seasons. Fortunately, his thumb injury is not serious and he should at least be back by week 1.
Behind Henderson are Jake Funk and Xavier Jones, along with Otis Anderson Jr. These three are expected to handle all races on Saturday in the preseason finals.
McVay kept Henderson and the rest of the Rams starters out of preseason action to avoid possible injuries.
