Kanye West asks to legally change his name to “Ye”

Kanye west is gone – that is, if he gets what he wants, and a judge grants him an official name change … to something much more relevant.

KW just filed legal documents in LA … asking a court to give him a new nickname on the books – ranging from Kanye Omari West to simply “Ye.” Yes, the nickname he’s worn for years and years now … the dude wants that to be what Uncle Sam knows him as he goes forward.

It’s unclear what might go into the review process for this … but it seems pretty clear. If a judge signs, then Kanye, as you know, is lost. It’ll be all Ye … all day. The point is, in California, unless there is evidence that a name change is designed to commit fraud or other shenanigans … the judge will approve it. So it will get approval by the judge.

It’s interesting – Kanye also wants to remove ‘the West’ from his character altogether … which is quite odd, given he’s proud of his family heritage – and even called himself often ( both in person and in song) Mr. West. This too will be canceled if he gets the green light.

Funny enough … Kim still has “West” in her own last name – this after the couple filed for divorce.
