Tom Holland says Garfield’s Spider-Man web shooters never made sense

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has said he never understood Andrew Garfield’s web shooting tech in The Amazing Spider-Man movies.

Spider-Man: No Path Home Star Tom Holland doesn’t think the web shooters used by Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man make any sense. Holland is the third actor to play the role of Peter Parker in a major franchise after the tenures of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. He’s currently gearing up for the release of his next multiverse adventure, which will debut in theaters in December.

Although all three solo Spider Man franchises have told consistent versions of Peter Parker’s story since the first Spider Man in 2002, the representation of his paintings varied considerably. In Tobey Maguire’s films, his canvases were organic excretions from his body, while The Amazing Spider-Man the movies saw Andrew Garfield’s version of the character create his own gear from scratch. However, unlike Tom Holland (whom Peter also built his own shooters on the web), Garfield’s version of Spider-Man never had a benefactor like Tony Stark to help him refine his gear, doing everything. what he created his own creations.

Now with Spider-Man: No Path Home Later that year, Holland revealed his thoughts on the web shooters used by the previous Spider-Man. In fact, the new book, Marvel Studios Cinema Magic: Spider-Man (Going through The Direct), features a quote from Hollande explaining that the small size of Garfield’s web shooters doesn’t make sense to him. Read the quote from Holland below:

Old school web shooters are so cool. They’re really big and bulky, they’re really mechanical, and if you push the button, everything moves … What I love about his original web shooters is that they’re as real as they could be. ‘to be. I know it’s like impossible to do something that pulls a web out of your hand, but the only thing with [the web-shooters in] AndrĂ© [Garfield]The movie is that they were so small and so compact, it didn’t really make sense to me. But it’s a big thing a kid would do in their bedroom.

Dutchman Peter Parker will be able to put his own web shooters to good use in December when his latest solo film debuts. Taking place some time after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Path Home will see Peter pick up the pieces of his life after Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) reveals his identity to the world, and apparently causes a massive multiverse event when he visits Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to try and resolve the situation. Due to their altered space and time, Peter comes face to face with villains such as Dock Ock (Alfred Molina) and Electro (Jamie Foxx).

Of course, this once again raises the big question of whether or not fans will have the chance to see the Dutch version of Peter meet Garfield’s in the upcoming film. It has already been confirmed that the villains of Sam Raimi and Marc Webb Spider Man franchises will appear in No way home, which leads many to wonder if Garfield and Maguire might be returning to the film. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but if confirmation occurs, audiences could see Garfield’s version of Spider-Man helping Holland further refine his own shooters on the web. Whether or not Garfield returns as Spider-Man, Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker when Spider-Man: No Path Home debuts later this year on December 17th.
