Observations from the Jets training camp on Tuesday.
Moore of that
Rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore (quad) returned to practice after missing nearly two weeks and connected on a nice 30-yard touchdown road with Zach Wilson. “I did [the defender] believe I was posting a post. As soon as I gave him eyes, he played inside for a bit, and I knew I had room to get out. Zach threw a good ball and I kept my feet, ”said Moore.
Now it hurts!
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts danced in the end zone after throwing a 1-yard pass to Jalen Reagor in a two-minute late drill in joint practice on Tuesday. The TD was set up by a pass interference call on Jets cornerback Bryce Hall.
Caught my attention
It was impossible to miss the Eagles ‘constant penetration of the Jets’ offensive line defense. Head coach Robert Saleh reiterated he was not concerned about his team’s pass protection, despite what would have been at least five Wilson sacks by the Eagles.
Zach Wilson’s day
The rookie unofficially completed 10 of 14 passes in 11-11, but he was forced to make a few bad shots and was sacked early in practice. The first-team offense was also knocked out three times in its last possession in two-minute drills.
Medical report
Lieutenant Mekhi Becton left training early to be checked for a head injury. CB Brandin Echols limped late in training after landing awkwardly on his hip. Moore (quad) and G Alijah Vera-Tucker (breastplate) returned to team drills. WR Denzel Mims (hip), TE Ryan Griffin (hamstrings) and DT Sheldon Rankins (leg) remain absent.
