Panthers trade Denzel Perryman to Raiders

CHARLOTTE – The Panthers added a future draft capital on Wednesday night, in exchange for a player who hadn’t cracked the starting lineup here.

The team has agreed to trade linebacker Denzel Perryman to the Raiders. The case is pending a physical.

The Panthers will send Perryman and their 2022 seventh-round pick to Las Vegas for the Raiders’ 2022 sixth round.

The Panthers signed the veteran free agency linebacker this offseason, but he couldn’t get past Jermaine Carter for the starting position in the middle.

Perryman had recovered from a hip flexor problem that cost him time at camp and was out for the past two days after a teammate stepped on his foot in training. He had been a productive player during his first six years with the Chargers, making him known for his new team.
