Alana Thompson aka Honey Boo Boo has totally transformed for a new magazine to broadcast.
The reality TV star, 15, posed for Teen Vogue and spoke candidly about growing up on TV and not wanting to be defined by herself any younger.
“I guess people still expect me to be little Honey Boo Boo, and I’m not anymore,” she told the magazine.
“Just because I’m from the south people expect me to be a hard worker, to be a four-wheeler all the time, but it’s not really like that,” said Thompson. “There are so many people on my Instagram who don’t like my nails or my eyelashes. But I don’t care. As long as I like myself, I’m fine.”

Even though she receives negative comments about her looks and style on social media, Thompson is determined to be authentic herself.
“I never wish to be like anyone. I am my own person,” she said.
The “Toddlers & Tiaras” alum also talked about how she handles shampoos and trolls.
“I don’t understand why people think this way,” she said of people’s harsh words. “Just because I have some extra meat on my bones, do you want to hate me? I will never be ashamed of my body.”
She added, “I know I’m beautiful, and I know I have a striking body, so … I don’t care.”

Another thing Thompson is working on is his strained relationship with his mother, June Shannon. In March 2019, along with her then-boyfriend, Geno Doak, June was arrested for drug possession following a marital dispute in a Alabama gas station.
June lost custody of Thompson, and June’s eldest daughter, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, became Thompson’s legal guardian.
“When my mom got really bad with her [drug use], I didn’t know where I was going to end up. I’m proud of myself for how far we’ve come, “said Thompson. She and June are working on their relationship.

“A lot of people in this world don’t realize how many people are really affected by drugs and alcohol [use]… It’s very, very hard, said Thompson. It’s something I don’t wish on anyone, for real.
In 2020, June enrolled in rehab and has since remained sober from drugs and alcohol.
