The Flash season 8 opens with a 5-episode Armageddon crossover event

Flash is about to become one of the oldest DC / CW broadcasts now like Super girl getting ready to say goodbye with its sixth season finale. But when Flash returns, it’s in speedster style to launch a major event that fastener set dc shows past and here.

Double Armageddon, the five opening episodes of season eight will see Team Flash and the rest of planet Earth threatened by an alien invasion that pushes Barry to his limits. To achieveBelieving he can’t face this new threat on their own, Barry and Iris roll out their epic enough contact list and recruit old friends to join in: Javicia Leslie’s Batwoman, Watercress Guillaumes’ Black Lightning, Super girlis Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Arrowby Kat McNamara as Mia Queen, Crisis on the Infinite Earthis Osric Chau as Ryan Choi, and old Legends of tomorrow star (and okay, Superman too much I guess) Brandon Routh like the atom.

“Put simply, these are going to be some of the most moving Sparkle episodes ever. Plus, there are some really epic moments and huge surprises that await our fans ”, Sparkle producer Eric Wallace said in a statement (via Collider). “And we’re doing them on a bigger and bolder scale than our Sparkle episodes. Then yes, Armageddon is much more than a simple graphic novel scenario. It will be a real event for Sparkle and Arrowverse fans old and new.

It’s not just the heroes who return: longtime CW / DC stalwarts Neal McDonough and Tom Cavanagh will also return in Armageddon, reprising their roles as Damien Darhk and Eobard Thawne (aka the Reverse Flash), respectively. It’s the first time since Crisis on Infinite Earths that tThe CW’s DC shows had a major crossover like this, after a previously planned crew-who would have incorporated Superman and Lois as good as Batwoman Last year was scrapped due to cthe impacts of ovid-19 on production. Maybe say then that the events of Armageddon, instead of taking place over several shows, will be strictly limited to Flash– but hopefully that means it can avoid some of the issues with DC / CW crossovers, where individual episodes have to look like episodes of “their” also show more than they do parts of a larger story.

Armageddon will kick off Flash‘s eighth season when it hits the CW on November 16.
