Another day, another anti-vax commentary from the Joe Rogan Experience.
In a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan and guest Meghan Murphy discussed what they believe to be excessive and conflicting pandemic regulations.
Rogan explained how he challenges New York Mayor Bill de Blasio for asking New Yorkers to provide proof of vaccination when they dine indoors or attend a variety of events and indoor spaces. .
“I have a problem because I have a show there at Madison Square Garden in October and I have already sold 13,000 tickets,” Rogan said. “And now they’re saying everyone needs to be vaccinated and I want everyone to know you can get your money back.”
“If someone has an ideological or physiological reason for not getting the shot, I don’t want to force them to get the shot to see a stupid comedy show,” he added.
The podcaster also noted how de Blasio decided that last summer’s Black Lives Matter protests were exempt from the ban on large events and gatherings.
“That’s not how rights work! exclaimed Murphy, to which Rogan added, “Especially in America.”
Murphy, a Canadian writer who was banned from Twitter for comments that many deem transphobic, has expressed concerns that Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau is making similar decisions.
“This BLM protest that happened during COVID is fine, but this anti-lockdown protest is essentially illegal,” Murphy said of Trudeau’s pandemic regulations. “And people don’t see why this is a problem and it’s crazy for me and it’s super scary for me.”
Rogan joins a growing number of artists making headlines in choosing whether or not to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination during their shows as the Delta variant continues to wreak havoc across the country.
However, Rogan’s track record of spreading misinformation related to the COVID vaccine (that is, “healthy” people do not need it) is well documented, despite the insistence of the former host of “Fear Factor” that he is not anti-vax, in fact.
