Yesterday, Xbox unveiled the free Xbox One and Xbox 360 games that all Xbox Live Gold subscribers get on Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series x for the month of September through Games With Gold. Over the past couple of years, the Games With Gold service has become a bit of a running joke, delivering terrible lineup after terrible lineup almost every month, especially compared to PlayStation Plus. That said, for the month of September, Xbox Live Gold subscribers are pleasantly surprised with the free games they get.
For those who missed the announcement, the lineup – which consists of Warhammer: Chaosbane, Mulaka, Enders Zone HD Collection, and Samurai Showdown II – there is nothing to write home for mom. However, it’s a decent offer, or at least that’s what the reaction on Twitter suggests.
“Wait, is it a good month? Not used to this,” wrote a Twitter user from the range. “Rubs his eyes … Is that it? … It’s a Games With Gold [lineup] I actually wanna play … Whoaaaa, ” added another user.
Of course, there are a lot of Xbox fans who aren’t so impressed with the lineup, but it’s inevitable. And again, the lineup and positive reception doesn’t compare to what PlayStation Plus has done on several occasions this year, but even a somewhat positive reception would be a big improvement for Games With Gold.
“Good not bad, War hammer, Enders area, and Samurai Showdown II are all solid. Never tried Mulaka but certainly, ” wrote another Xbox fan.
The aforementioned Games With Gold line, or at least part of it, will begin rolling out on September 1. Until then, be sure to download the free August games that are still available.
