Just one day before the launch of the Nokia 9 PureView, HMD Global's Social Media and Digital Engagement Manager, Edoardo Cassina, presented a photo probably taken with the unannounced phone on Instagram.
According to Cassina, the professional photographer Konsta Punkka took the picture in Scotland. Cassina did not specify which Nokia phone was taking the picture, although we could assume that it was the Nokia 9 PureView due to the timing of the download and the amount of details in the photo. Juho Sarvikas, HMD Global Product Manager, re-shared the photo on Twitter.
Looking at the picture itself, it's easy to get excited about what the five supposed cameras in the Nokia 9 PureView are capable of. Although the sun is peeking over the mountains, the sky is not completely extinguished. More impressive is the level of detail of the shadows, which allows you to better see the rock formation in the middle.
Again, you can say that the hyperrealism of the photo gives it an artificial and unnatural feeling. Do not forget either that Punkka would have changed the picture on the phone, but to what extent. Finally, neither Cassina nor Sarvikas shared a link to the original photo – we only have the compressed image on Instagram.
Anyway, the dynamic range of the photo is very impressive and will give at least a solid foundation to the shutter.
HMD Global will hold its MWC 2019 press event tomorrow, February 24th. The company is expected to officially announce the Nokia 9 PureView during the event.
