Here are some of the places and places where you can catch normal and ornamental fish in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma, the three regions of Teyvat available so far in Genshin Impact – These spots include in particular the Medaka (Aizen) or Venomspike fish, requested by the Associations to unlock new Baits and Rods.
Below we will list the “best” fishing spots that we have found so far. As in those extremely close to teleportation points and easy to access. In addition, it seems that there is an endless supply of fish spawning on the fishing grounds. You just need to advance from day to night or vice versa with the in-game clock and they will reappear. Ditto if you surprised the fish and scattered them. All you have to do is move the clock forward a few hours.
Update September 2: After more testing, the fish stop spawning after a certain time lag. Judging from my experiences, it also seems like you can keep shifting time and “force respawning” the fish until the ornamental fish appears, but again, don’t quote me on this. subject and remember that it has only been a day since the fishing system was released publicly. . Keep experimenting, don’t take all the guides on the net at face value and take your own notes. It’s also part of the fun.

Genshin Impact – Medaka (Aizen), Venomfish and more Mondstadt fishing spots and spots
You have a first place in the Stormbearer Mountains, just north of the teleportation waypoint. The second location is in the river south of the Statue of the Seven in Windrise. There is also a location in Dragonspine right next to a teleportation waypoint.
You can find several normal fish in these places, including Medaka, Aizen Medaka, and Venomspike. Fruit Paste Bait tends to attract Medaka and Aizen Medaka, while Redrot Bait works for Venomspike. Keep your eyes peeled if you also see fish jumping out of the water, as this is the hallmark of ornamental fish.
Places and fishing grounds in Liyue
An easily accessible place is at the Broken Bridge at the entrance to Mingyun Village. Then you have the Tianqiu Valley, just west of the teleportation waypoint. I spotted Medaka there, so it seems that some fish are universal and appear in all regions.
Remember that you will need to catch a fish at least once for it to appear in the fishing list when you get to a location. So you know what may appear ahead of time. Make sure to try out a variety of baits and see what works best.
Genshin Impact – Places and fishing grounds in Inazuma
Finally, I have two places in Inazuma for you. The first is at the port of Ritou, right next to the teleportation point. This place has fish that I haven’t seen in Mondstadt or Liyue. The second location is right next to the Violet Court estate. Note that I have included a screenshot for second place because it is tricky. You specifically need to be on top of this cliff to fish. This particular place has Glaze Medaka.
Overall, it appears that ornamental fish spawn much less often than normal fish and are quite rare. I did not see any while browsing the maps of these spots. It also doesn’t seem like there is a specific place where they spawn more often. Although you can tell when they will appear because the ripples are more choppy. Finally, some fish also only appear at night.
Keep in mind that these are my observations after only a few hours since the patch fell off. We still lack information. We’ll be sure to update this guide or publish more if we learn more, so stay tuned. You can also reach me on Twitter @ A_iyane07.
