An investigation report on KTLA's anchor, Chris Burrous, determined that his cause of death was attributed to methamphetamine toxicity, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. Burrous, 43, was found unconscious at a Glendale, Calif., Motel on Dec. 27, and later died at the hospital. Death was deemed accidental.

According to the coroner's report, in addition to the class A drug, "contributing factors include cardiovascular diseases related to hypertension and atherosclerosis".

Glendale police were contacted by a man who told them that "a person with whom he was was lost consciousness and may not be able to breathe. The medical emergency occurred during a sexual relationship, the report said. He then explained that Burrous had been found via the Grindr app with a companion, with whom he had already met four times before. During the meeting, Burrous inserted two "rocks" of crystal meth into his rectum before fainting.

The GHB was also found at the scene, although the report says that it had been consumed by the other man and not by Burrous. The other man was not charged with any crime.
