All favorite MacBooks are back, with two new models. Of course, despite all the talk about stolen trade secrets. Huawei has a long history of producing high-quality, compelling and convincing Windows laptops, and this latest batch certainly does not stand out as an exception.
In terms of design, the systems are quite similar to those of their predecessors (making them similar to those of Apple), but for a "cleaner logo" that removes the top flower icon, opting rather for the name of the company. Both systems feature aluminum alloy one-piece models, with a sandblasted finish.
The Matebook X Pro is the most sophisticated of the two systems, with a screen of 13.9 inches to 260 PPI. The system also features a unique Huawei recessed camera, hidden in the top row of the keyboard, which is ideal for storing for security reasons and for recording videos under the nose. Above the keys is a fingerprint reader and ignition button reader.
Inside is an 8th generation Intel Core i7 process, with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The battery, meanwhile, should last up to 14 hours with a charge. On the sides you'll find two USB Type-C ports and a full USB port and a headphone jack.
New software features are also integrated. Most notable is Huawei Share, which uses NFC technology to facilitate file sharing between laptops and company phones. You can copy text to the handset and send it to the book to edit.
The Matebook X 14, meanwhile, is rather a mid-range system. The laptop has a 14-inch lower resolution display and a few other low-end features. There are however more full USB ports and a battery that should last up to 15 hours with a charge.
