Hugh Jackman announced on Monday that this father, Christopher John Jackman, passed away on Father’s Day in Australia a day earlier. And the star of “The Greatest Showman” paid tribute to her father with a touching tribute.
“Although there is a deep sadness, I am filled with gratitude and love,” Jackman wrote on Instagram. “My father was, in a word, extraordinary. He dedicated his life to his family, his work and his faith. I pray that he will now be at peace with God.
Jackman’s pal (and alleged enemy) Ryan Reynolds praised his pal’s pop in the comments. “I was lucky to have met him,” the “Free Guy” actor wrote.
Jackman’s Instagram includes the lessons his father gave him.
