Steven Duggar’s triple RBI against Dodgers starter Walker Buehler on Sunday appeared to usher in a wave of confidence in the Giants’ dugout. He had two more triples in Tuesday’s 12-3 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, which left the team’s confidence growing.
The Giants won their third straight game on Tuesday night behind equally impressive performances in the batter’s box and on the mound. Logan Webb continued his dominant stretch, allowing just three runs and nine hits in seven innings with six strikeouts. He hit the strike zone early on and didn’t drag any Rockies hitters until the fourth inning.
Webb went through six before having trouble in the seventh. The three runs he allowed ended his streak of 14 straight starts, allowing for two runs or less, but given the location his performance was certainly not to be sneezed at. While the Giants’ rotation is currently without two starters, it’s not without an ace.
Webb’s start was more than enough for the Giants, who never lagged in the game. Tommy La Stella, Brandon Belt and Buster Posey opened the top of the first with three straight doubles to take a 2-0 lead before a takedown was recorded. Brandon Crawford ultimately led Posey with a single RBI, and the Giants continued to rack up the hits from there.

Duggar hit his first triple of the game with an out in the second and immediately scored on Webb’s first pitch RBI double down the left field line. Duggar doubled up at center right to start the fourth, then came back to bat in the fifth with bases loaded. His third straight extra-base kick cleared the bases and turned the game into a rout.
The Giants set a season high with 10 more hits in the win. They have scored 22 points in the first two games of the series and have yet another opportunity to enjoy spacious Coors Field in the series final on Wednesday.
