Twitter is exploring ways to create a visually more immersive experience with its latest test, which brings edge-to-edge tweets to the app on iOS.

Full-width images and videos indicate the direction in which the company has shown some interest in recent times. In testing the feature, Twitter said it wants to encourage users to have conversations through photos and videos, rather than just focusing on text as the platform has traditionally done. While the result looks like a win to us, any change in Twitter’s design is likely to inspire a vocal subset of users to hate tweeting about it for a day or two before forgetting about the changes altogether.
