FDA needs more time to decide on Juul’s fate

The Food and Drug Administration has said it needs to take more time before deciding whether e-cigarettes made by Juul Labs Inc. and other major manufacturers can stay in the U.S. market.

The FDA faced a deadline Thursday to respond to requests from Juul and other e-cigarette makers to submit their products for review in order to keep them in the U.S. market. The Wall Street Journal earlier reported that the FDA would take longer to make a decision on Juul, the market leader.
