Radiohead’s Kid A and Amnesiac Coming to PS5 in Virtual Exhibit

Radiohead and Epic Games have teamed up for a new project based on the group Child A and Amnesiac albums, just in time for the band’s reissue of these two records. A trailer for the mysterious new collaboration debuted at Sony’s 2021 PlayStation Showcase on Thursday.

The trailer opens with mumbling, matching strings – plus a few hard-to-parse words from Radiohead singer Thom Yorke – before falling into the familiar chords of “Everything in Its Right Place,” the first track from Child A. The trailer then gives us close-ups of concrete walls with characters scrawled on them and short, mysterious messages like “reflections among the ice”. None of this makes a lot of sense, but it sounds like a really cool setting to listen to Radiohead.

According to the trailer description, this will be a digital exhibit that will represent “an upside down digital / analog universe created from original artwork and recordings to commemorate 21 years of Radiohead Child A and Amnesiac. “The exhibit is developed by namethemachine, a digital music experience studio.

The project will be called Kid A Mnesia, sharing a name with Radiohead’s planned reissue of his 2000 album Child A and his 2001 album Amnesiac. The re-release of both albums is scheduled for November 5 and will include both albums, as well as a third LP titled Kid Amnesia, which will include unreleased music.

Radiohead Kid A Mnesia exhibition will be released in November and will be available on Mac, PC and PlayStation 5.
