Congratulations to Rosario Dawson, who-in addition to being a well-known and critically acclaimed actress, director and producer, has now earned the privilege to be disney’s next big Haunted house Victim of the day! That’s right: Dawson has now officially has been drawn into the constant stream of broadcast content and news that the entertainment mega-giant uses to relentlessly create the anticipation of what is sort of another haunted mansion movie, dropping daily broadcast announcements from people we sure love to see onscreen, haunted or not.

Of course, we’re just assuming Dawson will play another ghost victim in the inexorably upcoming feature, joining a cast that includes already established Tiffany Haddish and LaKeith Stanfield, and yesterday’s addition of Loki star Owen Wilson in the mix. Dawson, like Wilson, has something to do with Disney’s recent streaming efforts: she appeared last year in the second season of The Mandalorian, playing the live version of the animation Star wars Ahsoka Tano editing.

There is a possibility that we are wrong, however, and Disney intends to filter this new celebrity cycle, not to be scared, but in scare themselves; certainly, it would be more interesting to see Wilson and Dawson play two of the mansion’s 999 Happy Haunts, rather than watching them get kicked by some malicious ectoplasm. At the very least, they might be able to exorcise the memory of Eddie Murphy’s debut film, whose memories are restless, or the lingering sense of what might have surrounded him. Haunted house the fanatic of Guillermo Del Toro efforts to obtain a Manor movie made.

Dawson has had a busy year, anyway: she’s currently filming on Kevin Smith. Clerk III, co-stars in the next Hulu Pharmaceutical drama with Michael Keaton Sick, and is set to reprise the role of Ashoka for her own eponymous title Star wars streaming series.
