Gran Turismo 7 release date is early 2022

Gran Turismo 7 will launch on March 4, 2022 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Sony announced Thursday. This will be the first numbered entry in PlayStation’s driving series in nearly nine years.

The launch date announcement came in a trailer filled with lengthy previews of the high-fidelity visuals and new features of the game. Players got a glimpse of a large, seemingly open world for driving, peppered with icons of map and points of interest where they can put their cars in GT7the photo mode of.

A large garage serves as the hub of the game, and this is where players will store any vehicles they unlock. Upgrades and customizations galore await gamers, and the fleet ranges from supercars under Porsche and Mercedes badges to classic drummers, mud jeeps and just about everything in between. Developed by Polyphony Digital, Grand tourism 7 was originally planned for 2021; Sony Interactive Studios announced its delay in February, attributing the change to production changes linked to the pandemic. Gran Turismo 7 is also launching on PlayStation 4.

Thursday’s reveal was also the first glimpse of the new game in over a year, following a June 2020 showcase where GT7 was used primarily to tease the visual abilities of the PlayStation 5. The trailer also featured a new campaign mode for the series, in which players unlock and customize vehicles after winning them in races.

The Gran Turismo series dates back to 1997. Although considered a centerpiece of the technical capabilities of the PlayStation, Gran Turismo was never launched with a new console. The most recent game in the series, the one from 2017 Gran Turismo Sport, dragged the PlayStation 4 for four years; Gran Turismo 5 also followed the four-year-old PlayStation 3.
