Apple reportedly fired Ashley Gjøvik, senior engineering program manager, for allegedly leaking information about a private company.

Gjøvik, who has been with the company since 2015, told The Verge that she learned on Thursday that her job at Apple was being terminated, effective Friday.

The layoff comes months after she went public with accusations of harassment, sexism and bullying at Apple, saying senior employees were holding a whiteboard of votes on how to make her “life hell,” and weeks after filing formal complaints with the federal government. regulators.

She said she also filed complaints with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the California Office of the Labor Commissioner and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Now, she said, Apple has fired her for allegedly violating the company’s policy on disclosing private information, multiple media reported.

Gjøvik on Thursday documented some of his interactions with Apple that led to his dismissal on Twitter.

She posted an image on Twitter Thursday evening that appeared to show that a member of Apple’s employee relations team was contacting her about a “sensitive intellectual property issue” and wanted to speak to her within an hour. .

Gjøvik responded by saying that she was forwarding the email to the NLRB investigator and that she wanted to keep all communications in written form.

The Apple employee reportedly said Gjøvik was choosing not to participate and would act based on the information he had. “Given the seriousness of these allegations,” the image in the email says, this would mean Gjøvik’s access to Apple systems was suspended.
