Fans responded enthusiastically to the use of the 1967 song, noting how certain lines creatively synced with the events of the trailer. According to Billboard, the song title became a trending topic on Twitter when the trailer was released.

Billboard reported that the “Go Ask Alice” line syncs with Priyanka Chopra-Jonas’ character reading a copy of Alice in Wonderland.

Another line – “And if you’re going to hunt rabbits” – is sung as a shot highlights a bunny tattoo on the arm of Jessica Henwick’s character.

Last month (August 23), Jefferson Airplane members Grace Slick and Jack Casady spoke with The Guardian on the legacy of ‘White Rabbit’.

“White Rabbit has been making royalties for over 50 years. I still have to pay my bills for this song, ”she said. “Now that’s a good song! “

Over the decades, the song has been used in several film and television productions, including The Sopranos, Fear and loathing in Las Vegas, The Handmaid’s Tale, and The simpsons.

Matrix resurrections, which sees Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss return, is set to hit UK cinemas on December 22. It will also receive a same-day release on HBO Max in the United States.

The next installment is the fourth in the sci-fi film series, following the 1999 original and its two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and Matrix revolutions, both released in 2003.
