Google One Adds 5TB Staging Plan

[ad_1]

Google One hasn’t had great storage choices if you’re a heavy user – you’ve had to either settle for 2TB at $ 10 per month or upgrade to 10TB at $ 50 per month. Fortunately, there is now an intermediate option. 9to5Google noticed that Google quietly added a 5TB plan for $ 25 per month, or $ 250 per year. That’s half of what you would pay for the 10TB tier, and definitely a better deal if you didn’t need a lot more than the 2TB plan could offer.

You still get 2TB tier benefits including Android VPN, 10% store credit for Google Store purchases, and Google expert access. Not surprisingly, you are encouraged to add your family.

The timing is right. Google ended free unlimited Photos storage in early June, creating headaches for anyone who relies heavily on the service (or Drive as a whole). This could save you from having to sacrifice at least a few backups if you know you’re going to run out of space. There is also a certain degree of sustainability here. Even though 2TB is now enough for your needs, you can give yourself some headroom without paying five times as much.
