What Nick Saban said about Mercer’s injuries and win issues

Alabama just beat Mercer 48-14 and Nick Saban will speak to the media from the end zone press room. We will have the updates once it arrives. Refresh for the last one with Will Anderson’s status as a talking point.

– Saban called it a good win. He was proud of the way they played “every now and then” but they have to break some bad habits. Some guys did. Some did not.

– The defense “did a very good job until the end”.

– Saban gives credit to Mercer saying it’s their “dream” and “they lived their dream”.

– On injuries: Saban said Will Anderson was out. “They are checking his knee.” And it’s questionable for the next game in Florida.

– Saban was not at all happy with the offense at first. Much more to come than to come.

– Kool Aid McKinstry played well, said Saban. He knew the game plan and he followed it. There was a bust on the TD pass when it was on the cover.

– On JoJo Earle: Saban said he liked his explosiveness and that they wanted him to regain his confidence. Slade Bolden “is very reliable” but Earle has the explosiveness.

– Saban is not satisfied with the punt return penalties. “It’s ridiculous.”

– “I think Mercer has a good team,” said Saban. Their offensive system is difficult preparation. “It’s a pretty good team at their level.

– Saban is excited, slammed the podium explaining that they needed more responsibility and invoked the discipline of his father who grew up in West Virginia.

More to come, including the full video from Saban’s press conference.
